Shibori
Shibori is the ancient Japanese technique of resist dyeing textiles to achieve the distinctive soft or blurry edged patterns. A structured design is combined with organic and often unpredictable results when placed in the dye vat. The blank silk or cotton fabric is folded, twisted, knotted or stitched to create limitless designs and most often dyed with dark indigo pigments. The results are stunning and often magical because of the unexpected quality of the art.
We love shibori where no two pieces are alike, making each unique and beautiful in its own right. We have created pillows, napkins, scarves, bedding, and clothing using the Shibori techniques. We love to create custom projects and can design to your imagination.
